Born in Dublin, Ruthie Ashenhurst studied at the College of Art and Design in Bristol, specialising in acrylics, pastels and etching. On her return to Ireland she taught art and design for twelve years before becoming a full-time artist. Ashenhursts art is a mixture of abstract and realism., her main aim is to create an impression of person or place. Mood and atmosphere are the key components of all her art.
